![]() Add ons need to be expanded and the development + product team needs to be AHEAD, keep up and communicate to users with PC /Mac upgrades that cause problems. Opens up multiple windows every time you want to make entries. There are lags occasionally, calendar functionality could use some work. Overall a massive productivity enabler vs. UX is highly intuitive, switching between multiple Gmail accounts is magnificent along with file transfer feature ( currently not working, needs an update following Mac updates) As promised the UX brings all the familiarity of a client host in Gsuite, mail, instant access to drive calendar docs. Seamless Integration to Gsuite, few hic-ups with Grammarly but corrected quickly once identified by the development team. They are a start-up and grinding it out the right way listening to power users. Going above and beyond - with clear communication and expectations. Super response customer and tech support. That is the only thing missing from my type of use. If I had one request it would be to add a Google Classroom launch from the app. Also, its functionality and efficiency at having what I need available to me without having to open tabs and navigate through something has been huge. KIWI optimizes all of that running those other functions (other than email) as an app instead of through the browser certainly has sped things up for me. And since our Ed Suite is all web-based, you need multiple tabs open to get things done. ![]() Anyone who has used a Macbook knows that your RAM gets bogged down when multiple windows are open, especially in CHrome. Now admittedly, I use the free version because I only really use it with my school account on my district-issued computer. PROSĪs someone who spends a lot of time answering emails, then having to set up a calendar invite/schedule meetings, KIWI Mail has been a real game-changer. ![]() I love this product and recommend it to anyone who cares to listen, and I swear by it to anyone who won't. So if I want to keep it out of the way, and not be distracted by it when I alt tab - BUT still get notifications I have to put it on another desktop. You also can't set Kiwi as the default app for ".gdsheet" / ".gddoc" and similar (the extension formats used by Insync) so that's a bit of a pain. For google sheets that I use daily, I'm not going to click through multiple screens when I can click on a shortcut on my taskbar, or hit the windows key and start typing for the shortcut I've saved. I tend to use google drive in browser, again for dark mode, but also because I can save shortcuts to specific files, or install them as 'apps'. Also the lack of a dark theme (and not having an addon like dark-reader) means that I don't use the calendar. ics files to easily add events when they are provided in that way. The calendar could be more fully into the OS. Never had any major issues with stability etc. Simple and straightforward, interface is clean. Notifications within windows and integration is good. , but lack of a dark theme (across all windows) and lack of integration for Google Calendar and Google Drive mean that I don't make as much use of Kiwi as I might otherwise. I just felt it was worth sharing the context of me discovering Mailplane. It's fine for email, and is a nice reliable solution. (I know I basically blasted Kiwi even though I said I don’t want to, but this is the only place I’ve posted this and I could do much worse if I wanted to. Not only is their business model sustainable, they’ve been around for something like 12 years.įor real - if you like Gmail in the browser but use multiple accounts and hate the limitations of it, check out Mailplane. I was going to blast them all over social media for false advertising but I’m so happy with Mailplane that now I just want to focus on letting everyone know that it’s incredible. Needless to say I was livid after evangelizing about it to all of our users. 6 months later they randomly emailed me saying my trial was over and I need to pay $5 per user per month for 2 years in advance. I was using Kiwi for Gmail then Kiwi for G Suite and they initially said it was “free for any number of users in my organization” (their words).
